Sports Hall Ostermundigen

The competition entry from Nemec Taller Architektur, in collaboration with Rehwaldt Landschaftsarchitekten, Experis DSKM, and Buro Happold, presented a design for a new triple sports hall in Ostermundigen, Switzerland. Our studio, TMD, was tasked with producing the architectural visualisations, capturing the essence of Nemec Taller’s innovative and cohesive design.

The project is distinguished by its use of timber construction, emphasising sustainability and energy efficiency. The design carefully considers the integration with the urban and landscape surroundings, ensuring a harmonious blend with the existing environment. The innovative energy concept includes advanced insulation techniques and the use of renewable energy sources, further underscoring the commitment to environmental responsibility.

In addition to the structural and environmental considerations, the project highlights effective spatial planning to meet the growing demand for school sports facilities. The layout is designed to optimise the use of space, providing a versatile and functional environment for various sports activities.

Although it secured a commendable second place in the competition, our visualisations effectively illustrated the project’s forward-thinking approach and meticulous attention to detail. The design stands as a testament to the potential of sustainable architecture in enhancing community infrastructure.
