Liberal House

In the first phase, the structure is conceived as a single-storey compact mass that unfolds into the surrounding southern garden. The design adheres to axial symmetry, which is reflected in the layout and subsequently articulated on the facades. The internal arrangement is defined by pairs of enclosed cores, strategically utilized as a technical room and bathroom.

The design concept aims to establish a passageway, allowing the client to navigate freely through the various spaces, enjoying maximum freedom of movement. The arranged cores create internal spaces, including a kitchen with dining and living areas, a bedroom, a children’s room, and a dressing room. These spaces are open to a timber ceiling, which serves as both a structural and aesthetic element in the design.

In the second phase, an extension is designed for the existing family house constructed in the first phase. The extension is carefully planned in consideration of the existing house. It consists of a single-storey compact mass that allows views into the garden from all directions. The mass is connected to the existing house through a neck-like structure with an entrance.

The extension respects the current house, the entire structure, and the surrounding development. Functionally, the extension is designated for quiet purposes, accommodating three bedrooms along with a bathroom. The structure is based on axial symmetry, where the centre is defined by a dressing room surrounded by storage spaces. The masses of storage spaces delineate the other rooms.
